About the site...

Hello! This site is my place to dump my thoughts on things that interest me, but principally hosts all my media for my personal writing/worldbuilding hobby project, an original worldsetting called Gates of Heaven (GoH).

What is GoH about?
Gates of Heaven is a post-post-apocalyptic space opera that transitions quickly into a science fantasy. It follows the stories of several severely troubled individuals in their ongoing – seemingly impossible – efforts to find some peace of mind, with the added complications of painful immortality, dealings with questionable gods, and something being fundamentally off with the unkind world they inhabit...

Can you be less vague?
Stupid meme elf breaks the universe and keeps giving godhood to crazy people. Newly promoted demigods struggle to deal with being unempathisable not-mortal monsters on top of their existing problems. GoH is largely built around discrete 'character narratives' which describe the circumstances of how these nutters became gods, delves into their psychology, and what they subsequently do to cope.

Well that's the meat and potatoes, there's some stuff about snakes and this rainbow chick trying to un-break the universe but it's probably not important, we're here to talk about Zachary high on his meds eating flowers on the side of the road.

Camellia and Zachary.

How do I read GoH?
Setting mechanics and worldbuilding information is on the pages under the 'Prime Universe' and 'Aurholm' headings.

Individual character narratives are on the Character Profiles pages. These are generally long and detailed, but my focus here is to just get them done more than proper writing. It's basically my personal story/character notes but way overboard and public, novel drafts and outlines. They're still pretty good though and where most of my focus has gone, so this is where most of GoH is at the moment!

Finally, on the Writing page, there's the actual stories I've written in this setting. These are generally sidestories that focus on points that either didn't fit in to or were glossed over in the character's narrative writeup. They're also where I put on my proper writing hat and care more about prose quality, so if you want the formal writing... it's this!

Maturity ratings/trigger warnings?
Overall rating is R16. There's nothing explicitly pornographic but characters can be foul-mouthed and horny.

For triggers, shoot, there's lots. The main characters are most all abuse victims who are suicidal at least once. Child abuse, CSA, and suicidal ideation are recurrent topics, though I censor the worst of this. The mood of the setting is overall dark but balanced by everyone doing their best to keep hope and levity going despite that.

Anything on here that isn't GoH?
It's mostly GoH. I've made sections though to talk about my hobbies in music, books, and random blogging, which are at the bottom of this page, plus links to my translation and media analysis projects, also at the bottom of this page. I'll probably write some essays/opinion pieces on writing and give them their own section at some point, too.

...Are not open, and are unlikely to ever be. I do participate in Art Fight and do trades and requests sometimes, so I'm fine drawing stuff for people, I just really hate money! Because dollars are commitments to bang out super duper Da Vinci quality I can't really do on command and I go nuts! I do appreciate the sentiment though.
